30 Days of Fandom meme - Day 10

10 - Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?

Hmmm, how to answer this...

I don't think (for me) that's a matter of can't or couldn't...

what it seems to be is a matter of WHAT i'm writing for the pairing... I think this question is stated with the assumption that when you write a pairing you're writing them in a 'love-match'... or something with the bent of them as a workable pair...

some of my stories that I like the most are stories that work with the idea of two people in conflict... where they're not on the same page and things are mis-understood or unhappy...

so, no is my answer, i guess... when I have a hard time with a pairing i just find a plot line that feels like the truth of the matter and go from there

Yes, it's difficult to know for sure. If you never try, you don't really know, and if you try, it's because you feel confident you can. I have to admit there are things I will never be able to do because I don't want to, and not because I can't. he he

actually.. i had a couple of writers challenge me to a fiction writing ... well, challenge... and it was something i was pretty sure was going to knock me on my butt...

and while I don't think i was AWESOME at it.. it really felt good to stretch!

i hope they'll pick up with it again... it was FUN and TOUGH

That's admirable. I can't really write for a challenge. You know I never take part in the writers' writing prompts because I am unable to do so.
